PRE TEENS NEED VACCINES TOO!
All students attending our interstate school district must follow NH immunization requirements. Even if you live in VT.
What Booster Vaccines Will My Middle School Student Most Likely Need?
Students in NH middle schools are required to have ALL of the following vaccines:
-1 Tdap for 11years and older for 6th grade students. If child turns 11 on or after first day of school, may have tdap prior to first day of school next year. (also known as tetanus diphtheria & pertussis). A dose of Tdap at age 10 is acceptable.
-Varicella (chicken pox) must have two doses or history of disease. Or laboratory confirmation of chicken pox disease
-Polio. 3 doses with last dose given on or after 4th birthday. OR 4 doses regardless of age.
-MMR. 2 doses, at least one after 12 months of age.
-Hepatitis B. 3 doses
Strongly Recommended Vaccines for Teens:
- MCV4 (meningococcal) at 11-12 years old and then booster at 16 yo.
-HPV (human papillomavirus) for 11-12 year olds. Given in three doses over 6 months.
